Watch Peter’s Story

In this video, Peter Ruhl shares how studying Pre Med Biochemistry at PBA and serving on a mission trip along the Amazon River in Brazil deepened his faith and shaped how he lives out unconditional love.

Highlights of Peter’s Story

Peter Ruhl, a Pre Med Biochemistry student at PBA, felt called to participate in a mission trip to Brazil. Traveling along the Amazon River, his team served in six different villages, engaging in evangelism, children’s ministry, and hands-on service projects.

Each village experience included teams dedicated to spreading the Gospel, leading activities for children, and helping local communities through practical service like painting buildings. Through these efforts, Peter witnessed how faith and compassion can meet both spiritual and physical needs.

One of the most meaningful moments of the trip came during children’s ministry when Peter formed a strong connection with a young boy named Lucas. At the end of the evening, Lucas’s mother told Peter, through a translator, that she hoped her son would grow up to be like him. That moment deeply impacted Peter and affirmed his desire to live a life that reflects Christ’s love.

The trip strengthened Peter’s relationship with God and reshaped how he approaches life. He realized that unconditional love is not limited by geography — whether serving in Brazil or in his own community, he is called to reflect Christ everywhere he goes.

Through his time at PBA, Peter has learned that his future in medicine can be more than a career — it can be a ministry rooted in compassion and faith.
